		Council Training Opportunities The following training opportunities are available for adult leaders in the Dan River District. For more information on training and how to get a head start in your Scouting career, check out the Council Training Page. Dan River District Training Opportunities 1. Take Fast Start Training To be completed within two weeks of beginning your new position. Cub Scout Fast Start can be completed online at: www.scouting.org/cubscouts/faststart/ Boy Scout Fast Start can be completed online at: www.scouting.org/boyscouts/faststart/ 2. Take New Leader Essentials After completing Fast Start for your position September 4th—New Leaders’ Essentials- 7 pm- St. Luke’s UMC in Danville October 2nd—New Leaders’ Essentials- 7 pm- St. Luke’s UMC in Danville 3. Complete Your Specific Position After completion of New Leader Essentials September 11th—Cub Scout Leader Specific Training- 7 pm - 1st Presbyterian in South Boston September 25th —Cub Scout Leader Specific Training- 6 pm- Potter House 1107 Westover Drive Pizza served Youth Protection Training (Can be done ONLINE) Take on your own through a computer, go to www.bsa-brmc.org and scroll to training Open to all registered leaders regardless of training or position Also check the monthly Ridge Runner newsletter or The Dan River District “Flash” for training dates in other nearby communities.
