To become a "trained" leader you must attend at least three levels of training. These are Fast Start, New Leader Essentials and Leader Specific Training. Once you are a "Trained" leader you have the essentials to provide strong leadership for the youth. For more information on how to become a "Trained" leader, view the "Levels of Training" section. The Boy Scouts of America and the Blue Ridge Mountains Council also offer other training opportunities for you, such as supplemental and advanced training. Supplemental training courses, such as those offered at University of Scouting or the Philmont Training Center, provide in-depth skills training on a variety of topics. Advanced training includes Wood Badge, the highest-level adult leadership course offered by the Boy Scouts of America.
