Training is Our Future:
The University of Scouting theme is “Invent the Future.” This theme shows that all Scouters need to continually take training to present the best program they can for their units. Trained Scouters help the youth of our community to be better leaders and citizens.

What is the University of Scouting?
University of Scouting is a supplemental training opportunity for all adult leaders. It is the only time during the year where you can find the widest variety of training opportunities in all program areas, all in one place. Whether you are new to the Scouting program or a veteran Scouter, University of Scouting provides informative and hands-on courses in Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, Venturing and District/Council operations.

Cub Scout Leader College provides a wide variety of courses from pack administration to planning for an outdoor program. Boy Scout Leader College provides an exciting variety of troop, patrol and outdoor planning supplemental courses to help manage the challenges of troop experiences. College of Venturing provides training on what it takes to keep those older Scouts active in Scouting. College of Continuing Education provides informational courses on BSA programs and opportunities. College of District/Council Operations provides training courses for District operations and Council sponsored training such as the Trainer Development Conference.

In addition to the informational courses, Basic Leader and Leader Specific Training will also be offered to bring you the courses that are normally offered through your districts. It is an additional opportunity to get basic leader training if you missed your district’s training.
