Powder Horn 2020
What in the world is this thing called Powder Horn?
Powder Horn is a resource course designed to introduce Scouting’s adults and youth to theexciting high-adventure program possibilities for their unit. The course supports the missionof strengthening units so they can achieve the mission of the Boy Scouts of America. Onecommon denominator of successful courses is that creativity and variety play a role in thedelivery of the curriculum. Each course is somewhat different, and that is a good thing. So even if you have been before, each course can be a new challenge! The ultimate goal is for the participants to leave the Powder Horn course with a list of ideas to help their program, along with the contacts and resources needed to implement them.
So, what are some of the exciting high-adventure programs this course will introduce you to?
Astronomy, Backpacking, Canoeing/Kayaking, Caving, COPE, Climbing/Rappelling, Conservation, Equestrian/Horsemanship, Fishing, Hunting, Outdoor Living History, Plants and Wildlife, Discover/Try Scuba, Shooting Sports, Small Boat Sailing, Wilderness First Aid
